At midnight, I was at Congo Bar in Cancun, Mexico dancing with loved ones and new friends. My headband covering the sunburn on my forehead while my crocheted open back top swayed with every twirl and out-of-beat step. Hours earlier I was 29 years old as we swam in the ocean, explored an island named from a legend based on the goddess of fertility and love, and met friends from back home as well as far off countries. This past week will forever remain in my memory where I fell in love with Mexico and their culture, learned that I’m still in my twenties at heart, and as each new fine line sets in my face I can cherish them as memories made and lessons learned. I’m blessed to be able to experience the world in ways I never imagined! Here’s to 30 more years of dancing, adventures, learning, and love.
